The Higher Education supplement of the Australian newspaper has reported that 30% of students attend lectures at the Australian National University after the first two weeks ("
Chills as the body count drops", by Paul Cleary, 10 February 2016). This is not surprising (except I would estimate the figure at 25%). For this reason I stopped using old fashioned lectures as the primary teaching tool in at ANU in 2009.
